Here are some guys that are all making great music.  You should give their sites a look-see.

  • DCene - A promotion group in DC dedicated to putting on some of the best parties and concerts you'll ever go to.  DCene has been kind enough to let Mike participate in a few events so you should definitely give them a look see and find out what party you should be at next.

 

  • The Sikes - If you like straight up kick-your-ass rock, you've GOT to check these guys out.  Performing a lot in the DCene rooftop concert series, so you have no excuse not to.

 

  • Saddle Creek Records - A group of guys and gals in Omaha putting out terrific music by groups such as Bright Eyes, The Good Life, The Faint, Azure Ray, and a whole host of others.

 

  • Turn Records - A group out of California that is also putting out some amazing music.  You would do yourself good to swing through and see what they're offering.

 

  • SomaFM - An internet radio station out of San Francisco that plays some really good music you won't hear anywhere else.  The DJ, Elise, has been kind enough toe play Mike's song "Trees In Blossom" on the Indie Pop Rocks! Channel, so if you listen long enough to might just hear him.

 

  • Tommy Gimler - The funniest musician out there.  May be for adults only, but you'll definitely laugh.

 

  • Rotoscope - Hottest band in DC.  Influences of U2 with a kick of the Cure and the Church.  Making some great music and really nice people too.  Their music needs to be heard.

 

  • The Fishermen - Great guys and good chill music.  If you dig acoustic guitars and great harmonies, this one's for you.

 

  • Laura Burhenn - Terrific pianist and singer.  She has helped Mike out a lot in getting started in DC.  Definitely check out her stuff.

 

  • Homunculus - These guys broke up, but you can still check out some of their stuff here.  They've been kind enough to help Mike out and answer questions every step of the way, and he owes these guys a lot.

 

  • Jenn Cristy - A lit'l less diva ... a lot more rock.  Terrific singer and songwriter that has toured played all over the country.  Make sure you check her out.

 

  • Heather Johnson & The Band - Great singer/songwriter that plays in venues all over DC.  Her drummer, Chris Martinez, was kind enough to help Mike with his own demo, so definitely check out what those guys are up to!
